On Tuesday, February 1o, Margaret Schilt will be leading a D'Angelo Law Library workshop, "Substantial Paper Success," at 12:15 pm in Classroom B. Topics included are how to use current awareness sources to pick a
topic, how to use Library resources to discover relevant books and
articles, and other information to help you research and write your
paper. If you aren't able to attend, you should take a look at the
Library's Researching and Writing Substantial Papers guide online, or make an appointment to meet with a reference librarian.
On Thursday and Friday, a representative from Bloomberg will be at the Law School, signing up new users and providing training for those who already have access. Bloomberg Law, which is available to all U of C law students, is from the well-known provider of business and financial news data and is described as an "all inclusive tool providing in-depth legal analysis, filings, opinions, real-time and archival news, indexes, rankings, company and biographical information, research and streaming live trial coverage on a single, integrated desktop platform."
All students may currently use Bloomberg at the dedicated terminal in the Wilson Reading Room on the main floor of the Library, and those with B-Law accounts will be able to log in from any computer connected to the internet, using a biometric device called the "B-Unit" (see picture on the right). If you would like to make an appointment to register with Bloomberg, please contact Todd Ito before 5 pm on Wednesday.
